Making progress at work

Today was a good week.

I did an Aspera demo, which was literally a few buttons (as well as quite a bit of research) and I got glazed by everyone.

It's really a good feeling to contribute to something small, but it really brightened my entire week.

I woke up to a rainbow. My 7:30AM wakeups have ranged from sunny and ready to tackle the day, to please I just want to stay in bed.

I've been thinking a lot about the time I spend outside of work.

For the last two days I've driven to work.

While a lot of people ask me that just means I get home at like 8PM, it also means I get a workout in as well as dinner.

And while I like the shuttle, surprise surprise, I'd rather be in my own car listening to an audiobook or podcast in slow moving traffic, than on a shuttle bus.

Lately I've been listening to CBC's Frontrunner. It just feels a bit more aligned with my everyday Canadian life. My friend also told me that somehow the 48 Laws of Power is actually a fun historical storytime kind of book, but it just takes itself too seriously sometimes.

Otherwise in the evenings, I've been reading a few chapters of "Notes from the Underground", highlighting a few sections and sending it to my friend, who relates to the main character a lot. If you've read notes, you would know that's not the greatest thing.
